Rhett & Link's "I Love Local Commercials" Series Gives New Meaning to "In-Your-Face" Advertising With its New Cullman Liquidatio

The Cullman commercial was conceived, written and directed by the Internet comedy duo Rhett & Link, who have become an Internet sensation by creating parodies of local commercials, featuring actual small businesses. The new spot features Cullman owner, Robert Lee, who gives new meaning to two tried-and-true advertising genres: the straight-talking owner and "in-your-face" advertising. In the commercial, Lee tells viewers the homes are "used" and "some have stains: we cover them up." He then goes on to say a "bouncer in Birmingham hit me in the face with a crescent wrench five times… and my wife’s boyfriend broke my jaw with a fence post, so if you don’t buy a trailer from me... it won’t hurt my feelings." The MicroBilt-sponsored project was designed to celebrate small business and the "art" of local commercials. The new Cullman commercial will "break" today on www.ilovelocalcommercials.com, YouTube and other social media outlets.
